Q. 여권 연장

안녕하세요? 

투자비자로 미국 뉴욕주에 거주하고 있습니다. 이번에 자녀들의 전자여권이 기간만료에 가까워져서 연장을 하고자 합니다. 뉴욕영사관에서 신청하면 재발급 받는데에 얼마나 시간이 걸릴까요? 사진과 여권, 수수료만 가지고 가면 발급받을 수 있겠죠? 

발급소요시간과 필요한 내용이 있으면 알려주시기 바랍니다.

A. 안녕하세요? 

뉴욕총영사관 영사과입니다. 

여권발급에 필요한 서류는 아래와 같습니다. (처기기간은 약 3주입니다.) 

1. 여권 원본과 사본 

2. 미국비자 원본과 사본 

3. 수수료 $15~$53 (연령 및 병역의무 여부에 따라 상이합니다.) 

4. 최근 6개월 이내 촬영한 사진 2장 

5. 3주후 우편수령을 원하시는 경우, 우체국에서 express 우표($19.99)를 구매하시어 제출해 주십시요. 

* 미성년자의 경우, 부모의 여권이 추가로 필요합니다. 

* 만 24세 이상 병역미필자의 경우, 병역 허가 후 여권발급이 가능합니다. 

경우의 수가 많으므로, 646-674-6000으로 연락 주시면 친절히 안내해 드리겠습니다.

Q. Renewal of a passport

Hi! I am living in New York State on an investment visa. Because my children’s e-passports are going to expire, I would like to renew them. If I apply for reissues of the passports at the New York Consulate Office, how long will it take to have them reissued? Do I only need photos, passports and fees? Please let me know about time and other details needed for the reissue of the passport.

This is the Korean consulate in New York.

The required documents for passport issuance are as follows (Suspense date: about 3 weeks);

1.  The original and a copy of a passport

2.  The original and a copy of a US visa

3. Fee $15~$53 (It can vary from age or military service.) 

4.  Two recent photographs(taken in the last 6 months)

5. If you want to receive it by mail in three weeks, please submit the stamp($19.99) for express mail.
